We went to The Hamilton to celebrate the official kick-off of the Best Buddies Prom Season. The first annual Best Buddies Prom will be this June, giving young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities the prom they’ve dreamed of. Best Buddies, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, has developed a global volunteer movement to help those with IDD establish long-lasting friendships, secure jobs in the workforce, and develop leadership skills. Leading to Prom night, supporters will raise funds for the Prom and foster the growth of Best Buddies programs in the NoVa and DC middle schools, high schools, and colleges.
