Princesses & Marines!

Last night we also went to the annual dinner with the National Cherry Blossom Festival Princesses and Marine Warriors at Medium Rare. The National Conferences of State Societies organizes the Cherry Blossom Princess Program for accomplished young women and to empower others. We snapped local princesses, Maryland's Emily Segawa and Virginia's Mary Klein, flanking LCpl. Timothy Baldwin.

Princesses are chosen by many outstanding attributes, including their academic achievement and desire to serve the community. Here, the 2015 Cherry Blossom Queen representing Japan Mamiko Watanabe, NCSS' Teri Galvez, and the 2014 Cherry Blossom Queen representing USA Rainey Sewell.

50 Princesses were paired to dine with Marine Warriors from the same state that they represent. Here, Cpl. Kyle Huggins and Cpl. Eric Burchfield bookending Nebraska's princess, Alina Bonn.

Everyone enjoyed the restaurant's delicious award winning culotte steak and hand-cut fries. Here, Medium Rare co-owner Tom Gregg with Princesses, New Jersey's Yasmin JacQuel Rigney and Wyoming's Dea Elysua Kollekowski.
