Peruvian Fashion!

Last night we also attended the Textile Diplomacy Reception to celebrate Peruvian fashion design at the Peruvian Ambassador's Residence. We snapped renowned fashion designer Sergio Davila, the first Peruvian designer to participate in New York's fashion week. Models walked down a catwalk featuring his designs, which emphasize natural textiles from Peru.

The Ambassador of Peru, Luis Miguel Castilla, hosted the reception at his beautiful home, along with Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, to kick off this week's Peruvian cultural celebration, part of the Folk Life Festival. He's with the Ambassador of Mexico, Roberta Jacobson.

The Peruvian Brothers' Guiseppe Lazone, who co-owns a food truck with his brother, featured bites of aji de gallina (chili pepper chicken), pan con chicharron (pork sliders) and traditional Peruvian cookies, alfajores. He's with The White House’s Fran Holuba.

Guests enjoyed Macchu Pisco’s pisco sours, and Peruvian beer, Cusqueña. Here, Embassy of Peru’s Carmen Davis and Peruvian Avocado Commission’s Xavier Equihua.
