The gowns were spectacular, the opera singing terrific, and the A-list crowd included Chief Justice Roberts, Kennedy Center chair David Rubenstein, gala chair Connie Milstein, countless ambassadors who hosted dinners at their homes earlier, business leaders, and Obama officials.
