Women Making History!

Tuesday night, we headed to the Carnegie Institution for Science on 16th Street for the National Women's History Museum's annual Women Making History Awards!

We snapped John Hagedorn joining his fiancée, NPR radio host and honoree Diane Rehm, with NMHM board vice chair Gretchen Green and NWHM president Joan Wages.

Women Making History Honors is a reception and awards program that recognizes a select group of women who have made a significant contribution to their field and serve as an inspiration to women everywhere. Here, former first lady of the United States and honoree Laura Bush joins Marie Royce, an early supporter and patron of the National Women's History Museum.

Prior to the program, we joined guests in the beautiful foyer of the Carnegie Institution for a reception. Here, the Reagan Building's Jan Du Plain joins Dickinson Wright's Dennis Whittlesey and his wife, Susan Davis International's Judy Whittlesey.

Following the reception, guests headed into the theater for the main awards program. Here NBC News and Meet the Press host Chuck Todd interviews the former first lady on stage during the program.

The reception featured an open bar including a champagne station. Here, Girl Scouts of the Nation's Capital CEO Lidia Soto-Harmon and her colleague Nancy Wood surround Mount St. Mary's University's David Rehm.

The evening's honorary co-chairs, Rep. Carolyn Maloney and Rep. Ed Royce, speak during the program. Both representatives are bipartisan sponsors on the legislation needed to create the National Women's History Museum.

In addition to the open bar, guests enjoyed and cheese and charcuterie spread with delicious passed appetizers. Here, Revolution Messaging's Elizabeth Bennett and Robin Curran surround Edelman's Charlotte Stewart.

Jack Kinsey joins supporters Cindy Condylas, Chito Okoye and Becky Schergens during the cocktail reception.

Securitas' Jacqueline Bothma with First Potomac Realty Trust's Nicole Myers and Securitas' Joel Gininger and Lauren Gornish.
