Last night we headed to the American News Women’s Club annual awards gala at the National Press Club.

We snapped CBS This Morning co-host Norah O’Donnell, honored for Excellence in Journalism, surrounded by ANWC President Natalie DiBlasio and her parents, Norah and Denis DiBlasio.

The honoree was '‘roasted and toasted’' by friends and colleagues, including CBS News’ Bob Schieffer, here with journalist Diana Quinn.

150 journalism pros and friends attended the entertaining celebration and enjoyed a dinner of strawberry salad, roast chicken with  couscous, and berries sorbet. Here, Christian Science Monitor’Sara Sorcher, Northrup Grumman’s Matt McQueen, Liz Shrum and Mary Noele Benson surround National Defense Magazine’s Yasmin Tadjdeh.

Proceeds go to scholarships for aspiring journalists. Here, Southern Environment Law Center’s Navis Bermudez, designer Rebecca VanZoeren and SEIA’s Suzanne Farris.
