Last night we also went to a fundraiser for the Community of Hope, which was also a celebration of its 35 years meeting the needs of DC's low-income neighbors. We snapped the emcee, WUSA9's Lesli Foster with the gorgeous backdrop of the lit Capitol from the rooftop of 101 Constitution.
This year, Community of Hope will provide healthcare to 11,000 and help 450 homeless families. Here, CEO Kelly McShane is bookended by host committee members Adena Friedman and Landon's Carole Kerns.
Former Sibley Hospital CEO Bob Sloan was Community of Hope's first Board chair. He's with Bedford Falls Foundation's Bill Conway and current Board chair Chris Kerns, who received a special award for his 27 years of volunteer service. The night raised almost $300k for health and housing services. Congrats to all.
