We went to hear George Pelecanos speak about his 19th and latest crime novel set in DC, The Double, courtesy of literary society PEN/Faulkner. We snapped him flanked by its chair Kathy Stephen and EVP Willee Lewis. The prolific author, who also writes for The Wire and Treme, was asked how he manages such authentic dialogue, and replied, “Just listen to people.”
