National Park Trust!

.

We went to Georgetown’s Rosewood Hotel for the National Park Trust’s beautiful rooftop event featuring a special tour of the C&O Canal and a park discussion. The NPT is dedicated to preserving parks today and creating park stewards for tomorrow, with a belief that there is a necessity to engage young people with our treasured natural areas. Here, National Museum of Women in the Arts president Cindy Jones, Thorpe + Searl Communications’ Olwen Pongrace, NPT’s Katie Snowdon and executive director Grace Lee.

.

Guests were given a signed copy of NPT and National Geographic Kids’ Buddy Bison’s Yellowstone Adventure written by Ilona Holland (center), she is with her husband, Delaware Supreme Court’s Randy Holland, and Hunton & Williams’ Alan Rudlin. Also included in the swag bag: extra park goodies, including Secrets of the National Parks guide to the Best Experiences Beyond the Tourist Trail, and a Buddy Bison Beanie Baby.

.

Dinner was paired with sparkling wine, chardonnay and malbec with specialty cheese and vegetables. Ken Griffin Plumbing’s Simone Roundtree and husband Micah's children had the honor of giving the crowd a speech about the program and the great work the NPT does with children. They are with Beacon Heights Elementary’s Stephen Biller.

.

Tetra Tech’s Lewis Rasmussen, Compass Group’s Carey Pickard and NPT’s Dick Ring.
