Last night we also went to 14th Street’s Black Cat for N Street Village’s Night Sessions Young Professionals event. We snapped Local Motors’ Justin Fishkin with committee chair Liz Bernstein.
The night was dedicated to Evan Bliss, a local musician (The Low Life) athlete (soccer and lacrosse at Landon and Kenyon), and wonderful person who died tragically two years ago at age 35 of a pulmonary embolism after flying 16 hours from Kenya to do philanthropic work. The winner of this year’s Evan Bliss Award was Georgetown’s Malmaison owner Omar Popal. He’s surrounded by Andrew Martin, emcee Katie Rost, and Simply Devine Boutique’s Kristin Lyle.
Over 250 guests attended the lively event; all proceeds benefitted N Street Village’s services. Here, Adam Langford, Lindsey Stout, Lockheed Martin’s Lizzie Deringer, and Tom Bindley.
N Street Village empowers 1,400 homeless and low-income women with a broad spectrum of services and advocacy in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. Their staff and committee members: Stuart Allen, Kristen Santiago, Holly Keller, and Katie Quinn.
Guests enjoyed drinks, mingled, and danced to the combo Americana /Country /Rock N’ Roll tunes of local 19th St Band, who played crowd faves like The Devil went Down to Georgia.
