Fat Tuesday!

Last night we celebrated Fat Tuesday at the 5th Annual Bayou Gras Block Party at the Bayou Bakery.

We snapped New Orleans native and Bayou Bakery Chef Davis Guas, who threw a Mardi Gras party in a heated tent at his Capitol Hill restaurant. He's surrounded by Mike Barch, Center for Musical Studies' Sasha Katnelson, Food & Friends Intl's Mark Haskel, and by Chef Robert Wiedmaier.

Buffalo & Bergen's "mixtress" Gina Chersevani and Brian McSwain were serving the krewe de booze or the N'awlins-style cocktails: Abita draft beers, sazerac, hurricane, grenades, and mint juleps.

Guests enjoyed the krewe de roux of jambalaya, crawfish monica, andouille and shrimp gumbo, and muffuletta. Rappahannok River also shucked some fresh oysters. Here, Hill Center prez Guy Martin, Susan van den Toorn, AARP's Shannon Guzman, and DHCD's Bernard Guzman.
