March of Dimes!

Last night we also went to the National Building Museum for the March of Dimes Gourmet Gala. We snapped Rep. Gene Green (TX) and Sen. Saxby Chambliss (GA) flankingSpeaker John Boehner. Its one of the most fun annual events in DC, as members of Congress and their spouses offer their best recipes in a competitive cook-off to support infant and maternal health.

Kathy Latham and Cynthia Rogers, both congressional wives, served as co-chefs who were judged by local celebrity chefs for six awards. Theyre with event organizer Leslie Hayes.

Gourmet Gala co-chair Julianne Chambliss is surrounded by representatives of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists: Gerald Joseph, with wife Helen, Sandra Carson, and Hal Lawrence. The night recognized the non-profits 75thanniversary and accomplishments from polio to prematurity.

Rep. Tom Latham (IA) and his wife Kathy and Senator Lindsey Graham (SC) had competing dishes: Hash Brown Casserole and White Cheddar and Vidalia Onion Grits.
