Last night we also went to the Luce Unplugged concert series at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. We snapped National Human Genome Research Institute's Alex Lee with the museum’s Ryan Linthicum.
The concert series is a partnership between D.C. Music Download Partners and the museum. Last night's performance featured Fellow Creatures, an indie rock band with members from Ugly Purple Sweater; their debut album is on its way. Here, bass guitar Rishi Chakrabarty, drums David Greer, vocals and guitar Will McKindley-Ward, and vocals and keys Sam McCormally.
The multi-sensory concert series allows guests to explore the vast American art collection of the beautiful Luce Foundation Center. Here, its reps Amelia Cornfield and Bridget Callahan flank DC Music Download’s Chris Bulbulia.
Prior to the show, there was a discussion centered on a piece of artwork chosen by the performers. The Luce Foundation Center has over 3,000 paintings, sculptures, miniatures, craft objects, and folk art pieces from the Smithsonian American Art Museum collection.
