Guests got to explore the Luce Foundation Center’s thousands of artworks while listening to sets by the two bands — which were selected with the help of the Washington City Paper’s arts editor, Matt Cohen. Guests also enjoyed free tastings from 3 Stars Brewing Company. We snapped this hirsute trio: Cohen with Insect Factory band members Jeff Barsky and Scott Verrastro.

Insect Factory, a local indie band, played music mixed with warped psychedelic collages, muted percussive loops and layered melodies creating dream-like tunes. Feedel Band, a Ethio-jazz band, blended Ethiopian tunes and jazz, creating music full of texture and feeling. Here, Smithsonian American Art Museum's Anne Wilsey is flanked by Montana Bowman and Gabbrielle Joseph.
