Love Out Loud!

Over 450 went to the Lansburgh Theatre for the 10th anniversary of Higher Achievement’s Love Out Loud poetry performance, as DC middle school students performed original love poems on stage. They were joined by two guest poets, the Rales Foundation’s Josh Rales, who read a poem he’d written about his parents and their philanthropy, and the Wallace Foundation’s Claudia DeMegret, whose poem was a recipe for scholar success. And then they announced that together they’d donated $1.2M to help Higher Achievement secure an i3 grant, to serve more scholars. Josh is here with new Higher Achievement Board chair Mitchell Schear and Higher Achievement scholar and Love Out Loud poet Kastenny.
