Light The Night Awards!

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society held its annual awards celebration for its Light the Night campaign, which raised $3.1M in 2016 for blood cancer research. More than 12,000 people in the DC region participated in the fundraiser. Here, Light the Night executive committee member Neal Beggan with the evening's emcee, Fox 5's Tom Fitzgerald.

Groups around the region participated last fall in three night walks — one in Maryland, one in Virginia and one in the District — last October. The top fundraising team was from Salesforce, above, who together brought in $232k for research for cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma.
