Leadership Greater Washington welcomed nearly 400 regional leaders to its 2017 Innovative Leadership Awards Dinner at the Mayflower Hotel to celebrate individuals and organizations helping to deliver positive change to the region. We snapped previous honorees, including MDB Communications Cary Hatch (2000) Crystal City BID’s Angela Fox (2003), Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington’s Kathy Hollinger (2004) and Pepco Holdings’ Debbi Jarvis (2009).

Established in 1986, LCWDC was constructed with a mission to focus on the Washington Metropolitan region, establishing a more dynamic and collaborative community with engaged leaders of diverse backgrounds, geographies and sectors. The Innovative Community Partner of the Year Award was presented to Mark Bergel (center) by LGW chairman of the board, Volunteers of America's Joe Budzynski, and Morris & Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation's Rose Ann Cleveland on behalf of A Wider Circle. No other leadership organization crosses and conquers geographic and geopolitical barriers as Leadership Greater Washington, which serves more than 17 city and county governments in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Northern Virginia.

Travis Holler, Alfredo Flores and Heather Mahoney contributed to this issue.
