We went to Laser Cat at the Historic Mill Building at The Yards DC on Saturday. Laser Cat is a gigantic inflatable feline-shaped art installation that projects creative work crowdsourced from around the world through its laser-beam eyes. Laser Cat was founded by Hungry Castle, the Barcelona-based creative duo featuring Dave Glass and Kill Cooper that specializes in creating "cool" public art and fashion. Their art inspires the fashion, but the fashion funds their art.
It was sponsored by The Yards DC, JBG and Washington Project for the Arts, the largest visual arts-based membership organization in the DC area; it serves as a catalyst for contemporary art. Here, The Huffington Post’s Paul Blumenthal with Casey Trees’ Alison Kim.
