L'Amour!

Last night we celebrated Valentines Day at opening night of LAmour (love, baby), a new three-part ballet from The Washington Ballet at Sidney Harman Hall.

We loved Under Covers, a world premiere that plays with what happens between the sheets to the tune of upbeat cover songs. Two of our favorite dancers, Brooklyn Mack and Maki Onuki, did a playful, sensual dance toAmy Winehouse'sTo Know Him is to Love Him.

The production also had a world premiere take on Dangerous Liasons, done to classical music, before stepping up the beat in a short company premiere,Opposites Attract. We snapped Abt Associates Susan Mitchell, IDBs Frank Nieder, sculptor Barbara Liotta--whose must-see artwork is all over the city--and husband attorney Robert Liotta who, though he works on divorces, was spreading the love last night.
