Kidney Walk!

Saturday, we went to the 15th annual National Capital Area Kidney Walk benefiting the National Kidney Foundation serving the National Capital Area at Freedom Plaza. We snapped DC Council Member Brandon Todd with local National Kidney Foundation executive director Michele Anthony.

The National Kidney Foundation's Kidney Walk is a fun, inspiring, community fundraiser that calls attention to the prevention of kidney disease and the need for organ donation. Here is the Cooper family—Alicia, Emily, Matthew and Matt Cooper, who is the director of Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation at the MedStarGeorgetown Transplant Institute.

The walk, where participants could choose to do a 5K or 1K, offered a family-friendly environment with a kids corner, a wellness area and various pre- and post-walk activities. Here, Ron & Joy Paul Kidney Center/GW Transplant Institute's Ronald D. Paul—also CEO of EagleBank—event co-emcee WMZQ's Aly Jacobs and two-time kidney transplant recipient Vivianne Pommier.

It was also an opportunity for patients, family, friends and businesses to come together to support the millions of Americans with chronic kidney disease. Here, event co-emcee, HOT 99.5's Toby Knapp is flanked by iHeartRadio's Yamit Azrad and Zoe Paregol.
