Saturday we went to the Omni Shoreham Hotel to pay tribute to our country’s heroes at the inaugural gala for K9s for Warriors, which pairs service dogs with warriors suffering from PTSD or a brain injury after serving in the military. We snapped Elsie McNiel, Prudential PenFed Realty’s Stuart Piper, and NIH’s Barbara Liles.
K9 for Warriors’ Danique Masingill and Marine vet, Capt. Jason Haag with his German shepherd, Axel. The service dogs are rescued from kill shelters and spend months in training before being matched with a veteran in need.
