Last night we also went to Wolf Trap to see Josh Groban, who sang one great song after another for 100 minutes, including tributes to his favorite singers and songwriters: Celine Dion, Stevie Wonder, Neal Diamond, and Stephen Sondheim. He sang in Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese, and he chatted informally between every song: “I wear such tight pants so I can sing that song.” “I love having the full Wolf Trap Orchestra play with my band; everything sounds better with a harp.” “This is for all the single people; even if you came here alone, that’s not weird.” He made a packed house feel intimate.
