Jewish Federation At Nats Park!

The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington brought together more than 1,500 community members at Federation’s Grand Slam Sunday: Jewish Community Day at Nationals Park.

We snapped local businessman Harvey Goodman with new Jewish Federation CEO Gil Preuss. Goodman was given the honor of throwing out the first pitch for his commitment to the Jewish Community of Greater Washington.

The third annual event began as a brainchild between the Nats' owners, the Lerner family and the Jewish Federation. Two hours before the game, the federation hosted an array of activities around the ballpark, inviting families and friends to connect to one another and to the larger Jewish community. Here, members of PJ Our Way join the National's mascot, "Screech."

Here, Nationals players Matt Albers and Joe Bryant sign the special Jewish Federation baseball hats for members of PJ Our Way, a group dedicated to providing books with a Jewish theme to other kids and their families.

Jewish Federation board member and IP lawyer Sheldon Klein joins Jewish Federation co-President Gary Berman in the Club Level Suite during the game. Attendees enjoyed a full spread of food and drinks while networking and enjoying the game.

In the main programming area, Grand Slam Sunday attendees enjoyed a photo booth, kosher food tastings, crafts, games and giveaways. Here, Gil Preuss joins Mike Ayer and Ron Glancz prior to heading down to the field.

Prior to the game, we attended a luncheon on the Club level for members of the Jewish Federation. Here, Gene and Gail Rubinson join the Jewish Federation's senior philanthropic officer, Sarah Arenstein, and Marketing Senior Account Executive Paula Correa-Silver.
