Irish Network DC!

Last night we also headed to the University Club for the Irish Network DC St. Patrick's Day reception. We snapped Irish Network Board member Isobel Murray with US Ambassador to Ireland Kevin O'Malley, and Iridium Communications' Thomas Hickey.

Guests heard from Ambassador O'Malley about the historic relationship between our two countries. Here, Irish Network DC and Future Civic Leaders' John McCarthy introduces him.

There was a fine selection of beer, wine, and delicious appetizers; we loved the mini grilled cheese. Here, the Embassy of Ireland's Michael Lonergan, State Department Ireland Desk's Katie Nutt, and Patent & Trademark Office's Monique Choiniere.

The Ambassador highlighted unique initiatives he and the US Embassy staff have been working on, including a Creative Minds program promoting American artists and performers in Ireland. Here, MFA's Bailey Cannon, House of Reps' Allison Jarus, League of Conservation Voters' Matt McKnight, and the US Senate's Bridget Kelleher.

Enthusiastic Irish guests mingled with Irish-Americans. Here, scientist Conor Bradley, pharmacist Marie Bradley, scientist Maeve Mullooly, engineer Claire Meaney, and nurse Gemma Collins.

Heather Mahoney, Liz Ovits & Travis Holler contributed to this issue.
