In Good Spirits!

We went to One Eight Distillery in Northeast DC for In Good Spirits: From the Kitchen to the Community. It was hosted by DC Central Kitchen; we snapped its crew: Erica Teti, CDO Alex Moore, CEO Mike Curtin and Amy Bachman.

It was co-hosted by DC Loud. It's rep, Erin Seaver, is surrounded by Deloitte's Greg Barry and Dept of Commerce's Kim Peyser, and by Cisco's Liz Grater. One Eight served specialty cocktails with locally distilled liquor including Gnomes Water (Ivy City Gin, cucumber juice, lavender and ginger simple syrup, and lime juice) and Blue Valentine (District Vodka, blueberry juice, lavender and honey).

A live auction raised funds for DC Central Kitchen's mission of reducing hunger and rebuilding urban systems through social enterprise. Here, Navy's Vincent Abbatiello, CPS's Michael Labejsza, Pan African Capital Group's Gerald Woels, DC Loud's Jen Marlay and Obsidian Analysis's John Ransom.

In the main distillery room, live music echoed throughout the boilers and machinery. Here, folk band Letitia VanSant & the Bonafides' Letitia VanSant, Luke Chohany and Brian Farrow.

Liz Ovits & Alfredo Flores contributed to this issue.
