Hope Awards!

We went to the 13th annual Hope Awards Dinner at the Ronald Reagan Building hosted by Calvary Women’s Services. We snapped its exec director Kris Thompson, surrounded by the award honorees, Community Foundation for the Capital Region’s Terri Lee Freeman, and Smith & Co’s Judy Smith.

Calvary offers housing and support in education and jobs for homeless women. Each year the organization recognizes inspiring individuals who have gone above and beyond to help those in need. Here, Board members Swafia Lopez Ames, Joanna Mason, and Alli Tombros Korman.

Guests mingled during the cocktail reception, participated in silent and live auctions, and enjoyed a three-course dinner while listening to Calvary grads share their stories. Here, Board members Danielle Mackey and Tracy Ballard bookend NCB’s Michele Fantt Harris.

The evening also introduced Calvary’s new job readiness program, Step Up DC. Here, Baker Tilly’s Anne Macaluso, Allison Komara, and Larissa Simkovich.
