Helen Hayes Awards Nominations!

Monday night, we headed to the Helen Hayes Gallery at the historic National Theatre for a reception announcing 2017's Helen Hayes Awards nominations presented by theatreWashington. We snapped theatreWashington CEO Amy Austin with awards founder Bonnie Nelson Schwartz, arts patron Debra Kraft and Data Arts board chair Glen Howard.

Prior to the nomination presentation, guests enjoyed access to an open bar featuring beer, wine and cocktails. Here, WSC Avant Bard's Marc Okrand with Theater Alliance actor Frank Britton and Nu Sass Productions' Angela Kay Pirko.

The award winners will be announced at the Helen Hayes Awards gala event at the Lincoln Theatre on Monday, May 15, followed by an after-party hosted at DC's legendary 9:30 Club. Here, Schwartz joins Young Playwrights' Theater's Farah Lawal Harris and Thembi Duncan.
