This past Saturday, over 10,000 people came to the American Heart Association's Greater Washington Region Heart Walk on the National Mall. Here, the 2017 Heart Walk chairman, CenturyLink's Erich Sanchack, joins 2019 Heart Walk Chairwoman-elect Marilyn Crouther of DXC Technology on stage as the event gets started.

The day featured a noncompetitive, three-mile or one-mile walk, open to teams and individuals. Festivities included a special performance by classic rock band The Scarlet Letters, Zumba, a Kids Zone and the annual dog parade. Here, the event's largest Friends and Family Fundraising Team: Team Kaelyn's Kause! This team honors heart transplant recipient and HLHS survivor Kaelyn, age 12.
