Sunday night, the Shakespeare Theatre Company hosted its annual Harman Center for the Arts gala, one of the signature art philanthropy events of the year. The two big winners of the evening were Charles Dance and Don Graham. Charles—most famous for playing Tywin Lannister on Game of Thrones—was given the William Shakespeare Award for Classical Theatre for his long career of portraying leading men from the Bard's tales. Don, the former publisher of the Washington Post and current chairman of Graham Holdings, was given the Sidney Harman Award for Philanthropy.

The gala wasn't just fancy dresses, food and tuxedoes. Attendees were treated to several performances, including from the Song of the Goat Theatre Company, above.

Before the performances, the more than 600 guests gathered at Sidney Harman Hall for a champagne reception. In addition to the theater company, the guests saw a wide variety of the performing arts: dance, opera and classical music among them.
