Hall of Fame!

Last night we went to the Washington Business Hall of Fame at the Building Museum to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Junior Achievement in the nation's capital.

Congrats to Junior Achievement CEO Ed Grenier, right, who's helped 800,000 kids achieve their dreams in his 20 years at the helm of this great organization. He's with two presenting sponsors, KPMG's John Veihmeyer and Pepco's Debbie Jarvis.

Congrats to KPMG managing partner Jerry Carlson, chair of the dinner, which raised an unprecedented $1.3M. He's with two of the night's five honorees, Sun Trust Bank CEO & chairman Scott Wilfong and Pepco Holdings CEO & chairman Joe Rigby, who surround Bank of America SVP and Junior Achievement Board chair Patty Brooks-Nobles.

We found VSE CEO Maurice Gauthier with a group of former laureates: VSE Board chair Cliff Kendall, WPG chair Mark Ordan and legendary DC banker Bob Pincus.

Cantor Fitgerald's Andrew Weiss is with the CohnReznick crew: head of its real estate practice (and also JA Board member) David Kessler, Rachel Platt and Jerry Distefano.

Former laureate Rand CEO Linda Rabbitt is with two of the night's founding partners, Washington Board of Trade CEO Jim Dinegar and Washingtonian publisher Cathy Williams.

Boeing SVP John Toomer is bookended by Northrup Grumman SVP Amy Caro and Strelmark president Hilary Fordwich, both of whom are working hard on April's Easter Seals Advocacy Awards.

Over 1,200 came to support DC's Academy Awards of Business. Here, our fun table: seated, JA's Ed Grenier and Cvent CEO Reggie Aggarwal and his wife, Dhaini; standing, Washington Business Journal publisher James MacGregor, DC Chamber of Commerce CEO Harry Wingo, The Economic Club executive director Mary Brady, Prince George's County Schools CEO Kevin Maxwell, The Community Foundation CEO Bruce McNamer, and JA VP Rachel Doss.
