George Pelecanos!

We went to A Night of Conversation with famed author and DC native George Pelecanos to celebrate his new book The Martini Shot at The Woodley. We snapped him with freelance reporter Megan Hemmerlein.

Two co-hosts, brothers Jim and Ted Pedas who, through Circle Management Co own the majority of DC's movie screens, gave George Pelecanos his start with their production company; they also gave the famed Coen brothers their start with Blood Simple.

The Martini Shot is a gritty collection of short stories and a novella by the noted mystery writer who has also penned much of HBO's The Wire. Here, Senate Foreign Relations staffer Adam Sharon, Embassy of Poland's Arthur Orkisz and ASCE's Peter Nonis.

After the book signing, there was a Q&A with Politico editor Garrett Graff and a cocktail reception. Here, NLADA’s Maren Beeman and attorney Christopher Alberto.
