Last night we joined A-list Hollywood at The Newseum as Sony held the world premiere of Fury, a gruesome WWII drama told from the view of a tank crew fighting Nazi Germany. We snapped its star, Brad Pitt.

Set in 1945, the film stars Pitt as a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy commanding a Sherman tank and its five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. The celebs were joined by military elite, including General Colin Powell.

This wasn’t a typical red carpet: the US Color Guard presented the flag with Tomb of the Unknown Soldier servicemen, and three WWII vets in their 90s, who were advisors to the film, escorted by the US Old Guard.

At the center of the evening was a Wall of Honor, where guests joined the stars and the film's director, Navy vet David Ayer, here with his wife Mireya, to write personal messages to active military overseas.
