Friday, we went to the FotoWeekDC Opening Party at the National Geographic Museum. We snapped teachers Beth Dunn and Minnie Das with Carolyn Lang and DHS's Jevon D'Souza.

The event was co-hosted by Brightest Young Things and Nat Geo and served as the annual photography festival kickoff event with the legendary Prince Paul DJ'ing, a live performance from Sugg Savage, exclusive previews, museum access and an open bar. Here, GWU's Linnea Magguci, Brightest Young Things' Brandon Weatherbee and journalist Morgan Baskin.

This marks the ninth annual FotoWeekDC 2016 Festival, with events going through Sunday, Nov. 20. It's a citywide event celebrating the idea of ''Global Lens, Local Focus,” featuring a line­up of dynamic and diverse exhibitions, events, projections, installations, film screenings and lectures at various venues in DC. The National Geographic Museum features the FotoWeekDC 2016's two anchor exhibitions—@NatGeo: The Most Popular Instagram Photos, an exhibition that tells the story of the No. 1 media brand on the social photo-sharing platform. The rest of the museum is curated by FotoDC, in partnership with WPOW, ILCP, The Pulitzer Center, Syngenta Photo Awards and more.
