Forks Up, Guns Down!

This weekend, we stopped by Beuchert's Saloon for Forks Up, Guns Down, a special event to raise awareness and funds benefiting The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, a nonprofit focused on advocating effective gun control and violence prevention legislation.

We snapped the fabulous group of DC chefs and mixologists here: Sixth Engine’s Kyle Bailey; WhistlePig’s Marcus Fowler; Cotton & Reed’s Chas Jefferson; Beuchert’s Andrew Markert; Room 11’s Nate Mann; Beuchert’s Chris Howell, Nate Truitt and MacKenzie Conway; The Dabney’s Tyler Hudgens; Bar Pilar’s Jesse Miller; The Hamilton’s Anthony Lombardo; Charm City Meadworks’ Andrew Geffken; Beuchert’s Nathan Berger; Ed Howard; and Howard Theatre’s Rock Harper.

With gun violence becoming ever-too-common these days, Beuchert’s and chef Andrew Markert, the mastermind of the event, wanted to do his part to take action and bring awareness to this issue, so he got in touch with his friends in the DC culinary community, each of whom was on-board immediately after receiving the call. Here, Trilogy Interactive’s Charles Amuzie and fiancé Angelica Morales with ReThink’s Tahir Duckett, MBO Partners’ Esley Svanas and Oxu Solutions’ Audrey Anderson.

Guests enjoyed music by Gourmet Symphony on the patio, while taking their pick from a selection of dishes and drinks from the participating DC chefs and mixologists. Here, Booz Allen Hamilton’s Jayme Johnson and Global Innovation Fund’s Molly Kinder.
