Fences Premiere!

We were at the National Museum of African American History and Culture Tuesday for the DC premiere of Paramount Pictures film Fences.

A special screening and red carpet was in The Oprah Winfrey Theatre with the majority of the cast and filmmakers, minus leading lady Viola Davis. We snapped Oscar-winner Denzel Washington, who starred in and directed the film, with Fences playwright August Wilson’s wife, Constanza Romero.

Washington adapted the film, which he also produced alongside Scott Rudin and Todd Black, from the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by August. Snapped here, actors Russell HornsbyJovan Adepo and Stephen McKinley Henderson.

Washington plays the role of Pittsburgh garbage collector Troy Maxson that won him a Tony six years ago in the 2010 revival play, which also garnered best leading actress for Davis. The film is set for wide release Christmas Day.
