Fashion for Paws!

We celebrated the 9th annual Fashion for Paws Runway Show at The Grand Hyatt. The nationally acclaimed one-of-a-kind event benefits the Washington Humane Society. Fundraising models raise a minimum of $3k in 12 weeks leading up to the event in a friendly fundraising competition. The event was again co-hosted by ABC7’s Scott Thuman and Dr. Katy Nelson, who walked their dogs, Olive and Papa Dawg.

VIP guests had an open bar throughout the runway show, in addition to a seated vegetarian dinner and gourmet dessert. We snapped honorary model WUSA9’s Nikki Burdine with Chloe.

The Washington Humane Society is the only Congressionally chartered animal welfare agency in the US, the area’s leading voice for animals since 1870. Here, CEO Lisa LaFontaine with her husband, Matt Kayhoe.

As one of the only open-access shelters in DC, WHS provides comfort and care to 51,000 animals annually. Here, Stephany Style Secrets’ Stephane Greene, QVC’s Stacey Rusch, and her husband, sponsor AUDI’s Thiemo Rusch.

Upwards of $420k was raised, reaching the goal. The top fundraising model was Donald Hoffman, here with his dog Katie, who raised an impressive $29,585.

Miss Virginia United States Brittany Athey is flanked by Shamshiry’s Ali Atash and Johanna Geber.
