The party was presented by 2017 Butterfly Bash co-chairs Elizabeth Spratt Cooper and Elisabeth Cohen. Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails and learned more about the upcoming bash. This year’s Butterfly Bash will welcome more than 700 guests and 50 corporate sponsors for an evening of drinks, bites, live music and dancing on Friday, Oct. 13, at Union Market’s Dock 5. Proceeds support Fair Chance’s work improving the lives of children in DC’s most underserved communities. Since 2002, Fair Chance has partnered with over 100 nonprofits and opened doors to opportunity for more than 80,000 children. This year, Fair Chance will partner with nonprofit organizations such as Bethany House, Chase your Dream Academy, Food for Life, Inner City Inner Child, Homeless Children’s Playtime Project, Project Create, Generation Hope and Empowerment Enterprise, whose executive director Julius Green spoke at the kickoff event.
