Everybody Wins!

Last night we headed to the 19th annual Everybody Wins! DC Gala at the Capital Hilton for a reception, dinner, and live and silent auctions.

EW!DC is the largest literacy and mentoring organization in the area devoted to cultivating children’s love for learning. We snapped BET Networks CEO and the gala’s keynote speaker Debra Lee, flanked by National Geographic’s Lynn Wallace with his wife Faye, and by EW!DC’s exec director Mary Salandar.

The evening’s theme, Open Books. Open Doors, celebrated the inspiring work of students, mentors, community leaders, and corporate planners. Here, Proof Integrated Communications’ Felipe Leon, Burson Marsteller’s Minni Gupta and Jessica Smith, and Venn Strategies’ Erik Olson.

Many student performances rocked the house during the three-course dinner, including the Amidon-Bowen Elementary School choir. Here, EW!DC’s Lucinda Mulzac with Brent Elementary School principal Peter Young and his wife Leah.
