We went to the Tigerlily Foundation EmPOWER Cocktail and Recognition Reception at the Hyatt Regency Tysons.

Tigerlily Foundation educates, empowers and supports young women around the world with breast cancer. We snapped founder Maimah Karmo, who started the foundation nine years ago, after being diagnosed when she was 32. She's surrounded by her team, Carolyn Warrick, Ania Bassene and Carol Barbe.

Anna Norwood, Shay Sharpe, Charelle Barnes, Holly Bertone, Kisa Ward and Raquel Witherspoon were honored with the Inspire, Courage, Volunteer, Hope, KM Warrior and Transformation awards. They all gave moving stories of being breast cancer survivors.

The intimate reception allowed survivors, family and friends to mingle while enjoying an open bar and tasting bites of pork tenderloin, seared scallops and chicken skewers. Here, Cardinal Bank's Harry Rauner, Evolent Health's Marissa Lawson, Northrup Grumman's Linda Rauner and Custom Ink's Casey Cronin.
