We went to the DC JCC for Dreams For Kids DC’s Under the Sea Prom. This year’s dance got the attention of the NFL because one special little girl, Sofia Arbeen, asked the Skins’ Nick Sundberg to be her date. Nick said yes, telling us it was an easy decision for him. We snapped them with her friend Sadie Prather, left.
Every year, Dreams For Kids provides free life-changing activities to empower children with disabilities to unite with their peers. Here, special guest Miss Teen DC 2015 Niara Iman having a little prom-picture fun with DFK participant Richard Brown.
Events like this year’s prom provide a sense of normalcy for these kids who are often bullied in schools and left out of activities. Here, DFKDC board members Allison Gershon and Kiel Chesley flank Jada.
