Donny & Marie!

We went to opening night of Donny & Marie: Christmas at The National at the National Theatre. Their celebrated Christmas show, making its Washington premiere, will be here until Dec. 7.

The singing siblings performed for over two hours and mixed elements of their famed Las Vegas shows with big dance numbers, full band and costume changes galore with a great holiday show: tons of snow, a Christmas tree and fireplace. Here’s Donny on stage.

The rapport with the audience was great as guests sang and clapped along to various classic Christmas songs such as Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Jingle Bells and All I Want for Christmas is You, performed in an upbeat rock format and harmonized by Donny and Marie. Sprinkled among the Christmas songs were the duo's hits such as I'm Little Bit Country I'm a Little Bit Rock and Roll, Paper Roses and Puppy Love. Here’s Marie during a dance number.
