Cuisine des Artistes!

We went to the historic Meridian House for the 25th Anniversary Gala for the DC Arts Center, which supports emerging local artists with enriching programs and a venue to practice and perform. We snapped its director B. Stanley with the Herb White Award honoree Bruce Kogod.

The evening’s theme was Cuisine des Artistes, showcasing local area chefs and artists who collaborated to create edible art. Here, DCAC board member Philip Barlow, Period’s Eames Armstrong, and Millennium Arts Salon’s Melvin Hardy.

Some of the gastronomical creations during the cocktail hour were prosciutto melon with faux caviar, spinach balls, corn pudding, and Persian soufflé. Here, DCAC board member Bridget Lambert, Petworth Citizen’s Paul Ruppert, and Lowell School’s Sarah Buscher.

For dinner, 150 guests enjoyed organic chicken with spicy pork sausage, boar with dried cherries, and dark chocolate lavender truffles, while they sipped on a folly punch cocktail. Here, Ron Fine and his wife Karen Kogod, Bruce’s sister, attorney Steve Kupferberg, and IWF’s Randi Berger.
