Last night we went to The Community Foundation at Arena Stage, to celebrate its 40 years inspiring change in DC.
Proceeds benefit its Fund for Greater Washington, which supports education and workforce development programs for low-income families. We snapped The Training Source’s Evelyn Rhim, Fair Chance’s Gretchen Van der Veer, and The Leadership Sanctuary’s Heather Kaye.
Local artists showcased talents in music, theatre, poetry and dance, including Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company, Levine Music, and Joe’s Movement Emporium. Here, PrimePay’s Whitney Hancock, Meridian’s Greg Conroy, and The Meltzer Group’s Keith Burgess.
Geppetto Catering provided a BBQ bar for the reception, with beef brisket, smoked chicken, pulled pork, and Carolina slaw. Here, First Generation College Bound’s Joseph Fisher, The Community Foundation’s Desiree Griffin-Moore, and Gilford Corp’s Ollie and Henry Gilford bookending African Continuum Theatre Co’s Dwight Deneal.
