Chefs Behind Bars!

We went to Chefs Behind Bars at DNV Rooftop Lounge at the Donovan House. Guests enjoyed signature drinks concocted by six of the city’s most renowned chefs, all while helping No Kid Hungry make sure all kids have the healthy food they need, every day. Here, Zentan and DNV Rooftop chef Yo Matsuzaki, who prepared his Summertime Swine bacon-washed Whistle Pig Rye; Thip Khao chef Deth Khaia, who made his Mieng Luang Prabangtini with Tito’s Handmade Vodka and rum infused with fresh pineapple; and Osteria Morini chef Matt Adler, who made his Sud Americano with Catoctin Creek Roundstone Rye.

Each chef was paired with a liquor sponsor to create one signature drink, which they served to the crowd and a panel of industry experts. A People’s Choice award was presented based on cash tips from the general public, while a Judges’ Choice award was based on ratings from the judging panel. DNV Rooftop also provided tastes from their Japanese street food-inspired menu. Here, Radiator head bartender Sarah Rosner with Zentan lead bartender Matt Allred, and Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants' Bonnary Lek and Julia Hobbes.

No Kid Hungry is helping end childhood hunger in this nation by ensuring kids start the day with a nutritious breakfast and have healthy meals in the summer. Since its launch, No Kid Hungry and its partners have connected kids struggling with hunger with more than 460 million healthy meals.
