Wednesday night, we went to the National Building Museum for the 29th annual Washington Business Hall of Fame. Among the business leaders inducted into the honor roll were Gensler co-CEO Diane Hoskins, whom we snapped with Rand Construction CEO Linda Rabbitt, who introduced her. Diane is at the helm of the biggest architecture firm in the world.
The event benefits Junior Achievement, and this year raised more than $1.3M. It was co-founded by JA, Washingtonian magazine and the Greater Washington Board of Trade. More than 1,200 people were in attendance at the black-tie affair to honor the four laureates: MedStar Health CEO Kenneth Samet, Deloitte managing partner of Greater Washington Gary Tabach, Diane and GEICO Chairman/CEO Tony Nicely.
During the 2015-2016 school year, JA delivered its programs to more than 65,000 students in more than 20 counties and cities in Maryland, Virginia and DC, with more than 700,000 instructional hours of in-classroom and after-school programs taught by nearly 5,400 volunteer role models from the community.
