Burger Battle!

We went to Brainfood Burger Battle presented by Poste. This annual burger competition raises funds for Brainfood, a nonprofit teaching youths how to cook as a tool for building life skills. We snapped Brainfood executive director Paul Dahm flanked by 3 Stars Brewing Co's Dave Coleman and Mike McGarvey, and Harmony Dale.

Chefs from Osteria Morini, Macon Bistro, DGS and other top DC restaurants brought their best burger recipes for the tasting. WJLA's Scott Thuman MC'd the event. He's standing behind the judges: Centrolina's Amy Brandwein, Ris' Ris Lacoste and PornBurger's Matt Ramsey.

Our favorites were The Catalan Burger from Tico (shishitos, fried manchego, chorizo, pimento aioli) and The Smokey Bandit from Bourbon Steak (bourbon bacon jam, aged cabot, cheddar, arugula). Here, Hell's Bottom's Wesley Rothstein, LAYC's Colleen Muse and Whitman Walker's Erin Keefe.
