The awards are named after William F. Buckley Jr., founder of the National Review Magazine and a leader of the early conservative movement. In his honor, awards began as a way to recognize outstanding young professional conservatives for their above-and-beyond service to the movement. The awards were originally founded and organized by the Young Conservatives Coalition from 2010-2016, and this year marked the first run by the America’s Future Foundation.
