Brew Lights!

Last night we headed to Zoo Lights for DC's first Brew Lights at the National Zoo.

A dozen breweries like Brooklyn Brewery, Brothers Craft Brewing, and Jailbreak Brewing Co joined DC's favorite annual light festival. We snapped Southern Pulse's Liz Lauzon, Wiley Rein's Jen Williams, Washington Jesuit Academy's Analise Brower, and Bishop McNamara High School's Brian Brower.

Local restaurants joined the hoppy time and guests got to sample bites from Rural Society, Firefly, Ted's Bulletin and Matchbox. Here, Greg Zartarian, Arlington Fire Dept.'s Brian Lynch, Children's Hospital's Emily Henthorne and Discovery Communications' Jessica Conway.

Some of the favorite beer samples were Blue Moon Brewing Co's gingerbread beer, Starr Hill Brewery's snow blind dopplebock, and Denizens Brewing's English-style beer. Here, Michelle Roser, American College of Cardiology's James Vavricek, CRD Associates' Erika Miller, Scott Douglass, Spider Strategies' Ashley and Scott O'Reilly.

All proceeds go towards species preservation and animal care at the National Zoo and the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute. Here, FONZ's Lizzy Molino, Jamie Palumbo, Pam Bucklinger and Kelsey Thompson.

500,000 environmentally friendly lights transform the zoo into a winter wonderland. You can enjoy the lights in the evenings through Jan. 2.
