Yesterday, 70 enjoyed the discussion of the new book by Michael Pillsbury, here with his wife, Susan, and the host, Spanish Ambassador Ramon Gil-Casares, at the monthly PEN/Faulkner Founding Friends luncheon. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful day on the terraces of the ambassador's residence, and the mussels and paella were a big hit. A leading China expert, Michael spoke about his book, The Hundred-Year Marathon: China's Secret Strategy to Replace America as the Global Superpower, and what the Asian powerhouse is doing to fuel its rise.
