Last night we joined hundreds at the Four Seasons in Georgetown for the Chris4Life Colon Cancer Foundation’s Blue Hope Bash.
We snapped Chris4Life founder and CEO Michael Sapienza, who created the organization in honor of his mother, flanked by Nancy Hulkower and founding board member Doni Kanka.
The team from WTOP 103.5 radio: Beau Phillips, Laurie Cantillo, colon cancer survivor Mike Jakitis and his wife Kellie Jakitis, Debra Feinstein, George Wallace, and Mark Lewis. Guests enjoyed a cocktail reception, dinner, live and silent auction, and a performance by the string quartet Sound Impact.
Chris4Life was founded to discover a cure for and bring awareness to colon cancer, which is the second leading cause of cancer death in men and women. The organization strives to get everyone involved through their “Love Your Butt!” campaign. Dr. John Marshall received the Christine Sapienza Memorial Award; he’s with Reusch Center board member Holly Funger and Ron Howard.
The theme was Beyond the Limits, in honor of the efforts of colon cancer patients, survivors, supporters, advocates and friends. Here, Colontown supporters Vanessa Ghigliotty, Lisette Dapena, and LeAnn Acconcia.
